To make a permanent connection between the computer, the adapter and the programmer, a prototype circuit board is required. The prototype board is shown on the right in the picture above. This diagram is only a hint as to the layout, you need to design your own. The board has two connectors for the wires coming from the programmer, these are male header connectors and are labelled P1 and P2 in the diagram. A female header connector is plugged into the P1 header connector, this is the breadboard connector with the contact pins labelled 0 to 13. Power is supplied by a through-hole button cell battery which provides 4.2 volts to the board. The power connector is marked VCC and is also labelled P1 on the prototype board. Power can also be supplied using a 9 volt battery or directly from the computer. The 8 pin IC socket on the prototype board is labelled U1 and contains an IC socket chip. You can use any IC socket you wish, as long as it is a male header type. You can either solder the IC sockets directly to the circuit board or use the wires soldered to the board to connect the IC socket to the programmer. It is recommended that you use an IC socket that has a section that accepts a male header, otherwise you will have to solder wires to the programmer to connect to it.The 8 pin IC socket on the prototype board is labelled U1 and contains an IC socket chip.
